I have a question. What english patch did you specifically use since the english patch I got is using the japanese names while yours is clearly the localized version which is the one I've been searching for.

I only use box protectors for loose cartridges and valuable games (such as my Gamecube and PS1 collection).

I've only played the Ps1 version and hearing that there is a detector in the remake makes me so furious it wasn't in the original release. It takes forever to search every possible location for those shards and takes up so much time.

Just remembered I had this modded on my 3ds uncensored and without the midi tracks going to play this instead of the same games I play every year.

If you have a modded 3DS or are playing on an emulator, you can put the orchestrated music back into the 3ds version.

I think I will hunt it down, always wanted to play it. Unfortunately with StreetPass and Nintendo Online closure on 3DS I am concerned I will be blocked out of conte T

Played dq7 in epsxe app in my phone, i made it 5x faster. I played dq 1 to 8 and d7 is the best dq game that ive played

Important to note that he is a Japanese war crime denier, especially in regard to the r*** of “comfort women”, an ethnic nationalist, he publicly celebrated the high s****** rates of LGBT youth in Japan, and the reason most international releases of DQ games (DQ7 and 8 on 3DS, the non-definitive XI release) use synthesized MIDI tracks instead orchestral scores, is because he refuses to license the music because“gaijin” do not deserve it, in his opinion (not because of compression issues). He’s made some good music, sure, but make no mistake, he is a terrible person and that will unarguably be a large part of his legacy.

DQ7 on 3ds was my first dragonquest game. I will never play it again and it was way too hard lmao. It was long as shit too. There were fun moments but jesus was it long.

This review was so good I just bought a copy on 3DS. Your enthusiasm for this game makes me want to play it myself.

I love the 3ds version, played it multiple times and just finished it again yesterday. I bought the ps2 version a while back but i just can’t handle random encounters anymore, so annoying when you’re trying to do stuff

If memory serves earning job points got annoying I know it does in some Dragon Quest games and I think VII was among them. The games in question prevent you from earning job points if the game decides your level is too high. IMO you should earn at least one job point per battle no matter what your level is. I remember one time, and I'm pretty sure it was the 3DS version of VII where I had a huge problem earning job points when I first had access to the job system even though I hadn't done much grinding. (I think I had stopped to grind for gold around one village prior to that point and maybe some grinding at the game's beginning)
